Eli Manning endorses Citizen watches, but the Giants go and get themselves a Timex deal. What's a quarterback to do? Apparently nothing. The Giants' deal lets Timex have space on their practice jerseys – a logo patch about 4 inches wide on the left side above the chest. And while press photos of the quarterback practicing with TIMEX on his jersey are embarrassing, he's not required to wear the jersey for pre- or post-practice interviews. *whew!*
But this leads to other adjacent questions:
1) Did Timex purposely seek out the Giants knowing that Eli was endorsing Citizens? (If so, how Machiavellian of you, Timex)
2) Just how many patches will the NFL allow on a practice jersey? Will it go as far as a NASCAR fire suit? (Now, wouldn't that would be attractive)
