The Advent Conspiracy organization has been working to encourage a re-evaluation of how we spend our time and energy during Christmas. While we all get excited when Christmas draws near, we also find the time incredibly stressful: fighting crowds at shopping malls, figuring out budgets, drawing on more credit, making sure everyone gets something they like, etc. etc. Advent Conspiracy seeks to remind everyone that Christmas isn't about spending, it's about giving. So, if we all buy ONE LESS GIFT and use that money to then make it a meaningful gift, the world will be a much better place.
Boxing Clever created a website for Advent Conspiracy that, among many other things, pulls in photos from Flickr, and populates a world map that shows how the movement is spreading good will across the globe – literally. Launched in early September, the site is updated with news of the progressing participation and illustrates how individuals, organizations, groups and churches are re-assessing their approach to Christmas and how they are changing the lives of those in need.
So, join the movement and enter your own story of what you'll be doing this Christmas season.
