Honda takes marketing "Street Tactics" to a whole new level

Driving on a particular stretch of highway in Scranton California will bring music to your ears - brought to you by Honda Motors.

If you've ever been driving down the highway and veered a little too close to the shoulder, you may hear a loud buzzing sound from the tires riding over grooves. This is simply meant to give you an audible warning that you're going off the road. The audio frequency created by the trapped air between the groove and the tire can be manipulated by the size and depth of the groove. So, depending on the groove and the speed of your car, that buzzing sound could be a consistent tone of "E" or "Bflat" or whatever.

What if you took a long stretch of road and used it to create an entire melody?

Honda did just that and the result is a lot of fun (maybe a headache for nearby residents) and a LOT of buzzworthy press. Check out the video and hear cars playing the William Tell Overture.
