Boxing Clever was on hand for the Boxmasters performance at Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis. The Boxmasters, fronted by Billy Bob Thornton, has been touring throughout the United States all summer and arrived in St. Louis for their concert performance at Ameristar on August 7. A lot of great music acts that come through St. Louis stop off in the famous Delmar Loop area and some graciously lend their time and talent with an in-store performance at Vintage Vinyl. Boxing Clever designs the rock posters for these acts whether they're doing a live performance or just on hand to greet people and sign autographs.
Chris Behrendt, who designed the Boxmaster's poster, hung out with Billy Bob and the crew after the performance. Mr. Thornton was really pleased with how the poster turned out by exclaiming "...it's really f*ckin' sick". The guys threw back a couple of beers and talked about how the music industry gets a lot of designers knocking on their door, but even so, good talent is hard to come by.
So, thank you Billy Bob, we think the Boxmaster's modbilly music is really sick too. We can only hope we get more opportunities to work with these guys.
