On June 25th, we hit the fairways of the Forest Park Golf Course to join our friends and colleagues at the first annual
GIMA golf event. It was a hot day but the beverage carts were stocked and roaming while the trees offered plenty of shade. The 4 ball scramble had a great turnout and, thanks to our sponsors, the event costs were covered. We started out with lunch at noon, so we were able to catch up with what our friends are up to and got to meet a lot of new people. At 1pm, we loaded up and headed out for a shotgun start. The load-in looked like the start of a Nascar race and we took a moment to thank our sponsors:
Platform-A,
Knotice,
Customer Motivators,
Perficient,
specificmedia,
clarabridge,
point roll, and
Core Metrics.

Jim and I teamed up with a couple of gals from
tSunela, internet marketing and SEO specialists and thank god we did, because they carried us off the tee everytime. Not that the dudes couldn't hit the ball far, mind you. It's just that it's hard to find your way back to the fairway when you drive 250 yards in the wrong direction. So, Kaysha and Kristy were hitting the ball straight and true (Kristy won the longest drive competition) and Jim and I stepped up with our approach shot and putting. We didn't make par, but we didn't embarrass ourselves too much. After all, when you can rock out on the fairway like we did, bashfulness isn't in the equation.
